stress
Stress is a factor in life that no one has the ability to stay away from. We all have stressful days and moments and even through the last few years stress has been on everyone’s plate thanks to the recession and its aftermath.
When it comes to depression, stress alone can be the cause. The symptoms of depression do not show up right away but through time if a person endures too much stress the symptoms will show up.
Stress leads to many health issues such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, muscle pain, tension headaches, gastronomical disturbances, and sleep disturbances, overeating or under-eating. It can also cause some emotional issues such as mood changes, lack of joy, irritability, anxiety or nervousness. Stress has been known to lead to behavioral issues in children, teens and adults such as drug/alcohol abuse, cigarette smoking and bad nutrition which of course on their own lead to other health risks.
Stress can come from many places like work, bills, medical issues, death in the family, and issues with children growing up, economical battles and an unforeseen crisis.
A lot of people in the modern world stress about paying bills and getting a job. There are just not enough jobs to go around and those who can find jobs are typically only getting about $8 an hour which is not enough to support a family.
There are ways to deal with stress and the biggest way is to just find something that relaxes you and do it once a day. This could be drawing, painting, putting models together, designing clothes, placing together puzzles, stamp/coin collecting, playing sports, walking, etc.
Talking with friends and family are also ways to healthily deal with stress and will not throw a person into the deep fog of depression.
